Why the Signature Program — And Why Now

You've Already Done the Work Before. You Want More Than Another Protocol.

If you're considering a 3,000 dollar investment in your health, there's a good chance you've already spent that — or more — trying to get here.

You've seen a Naturopathic Doctor. Done all the Functional Medicine Labs. Peed and logged data daily for a DUTCH test. Maybe a super fun GI Map as well. You've taken the supplements, followed the protocol, come back six weeks later for a follow-up, and adjusted the protocol again. Maybe you've done it twice. Maybe you've done it with different providers. You've read the books, downloaded the apps, cut out gluten, added seed cycling, tracked your cycle in three different ways.

These tools are all great and likely have chipped away at the problem, but you would not be reading this if you were completely satisfied. I am not here to belittle another practitioner's medicine, just to offer an alternative it that has not been the lock-and-key solution for you.

A lot of the data mentioned in the above testing are fragmented pieces and although very sophisticated can be a bit short sighted. This value is out of range, do the thing to get in back where we want it. Great. But why was it a problem in the first place? And you're still not where you want to be.

That's what happens when complex, systemic hormonal conditions get treated one system at a time — endlessly chasing the loudest symptom, putting out one fire only to watch another flare up somewhere else. It's what practitioners sometimes call "whack-a-mole medicine." And it's exhausting.

The Signature Program was designed for exactly this patient.

What a Functional Medicine Program Typically Costs — and What You Get

To put the Signature Program in context, here's what a comparable engagement with a DO, Functional Medicine Practitioner, Naturopathic Doctor typically looks like financially:

  • Initial intake visit: $400–$750 (60–90 minutes)

  • Follow-up visits: $150–$200 each, scheduled every 6–8 weeks

  • DUTCH hormone panel: $300–$450, not covered by insurance

  • Supplements: $75–$200/month ongoing

  • Specialty therapies (acupuncture, IV, etc.): $75–$200 per session, billed separately

A realistic four-month engagement — one intake, five or six follow-ups, a DUTCH test, and three months of supplements — runs $3,500 to $6,000 or more, before a single hands-on treatment. And often most of it happens over video. This does not include retesting in 6 months.

The Ray of Light Signature Program includes:

  • Up to 16 in-person acupuncture sessions over four months

  • Custom herbal medicine, adjusted as your pattern evolves

  • Moxibustion for supporting circulation and uterine health

  • Ear seeds for between-session support

  • Dietary guidance rooted in both TCM food therapy and functional nutrition

  • Supplement recommendations tailored to your presentation

  • Recent diagnostic lab interpretation — bring your existing results and I'll work with them

One price. One practitioner. In person. For four months.

But the bigger difference isn't the cost. It's the method. And hopefully we foster a relationship that can translate into future care for other issues. Spoiler alert, health is not static and you will always need to tend to your body.

The Problem With Going Straight for the Hormones

Most hormone-focused programs — whether naturopathic, functional medicine, or integrative — lead with the hormones. Run the labs, identify the imbalances, prescribe the protocol to correct them. It makes clinical sense on paper.

But for patients with serious, chronic hormonal conditions, it often doesn't work — or doesn't hold. Here's why:

Your hormones don't operate in isolation. They are downstream of nearly every other system in your body. Your gut bacteria regulate estrogen metabolism. Your nervous system controls cortisol, which disrupts progesterone. Chronic inflammation — often rooted in immune dysregulation — drives androgen excess. Poor circulation means the treatments you're giving your body can't reach the tissues that need them.

If you try to regulate hormones in a body where the immune system is inflamed, the gut is dysregulated, the nervous system is in chronic fight-or-flight, and circulation is stagnant — you're pushing against the current. You might see some improvement. But it won't be stable. Something else will shift. Another symptom will emerge. More whack-a-mole.

This is the central insight behind the Signature Program's structure.

Four Stages. Four Months. One Coherent Plan.

Rather than targeting hormonal symptoms directly from the start, the Signature Program moves through four sequential stages — each one building the foundation for the next.

Stage 1: Immune System We start by calming the inflammatory load. For most patients with endometriosis, PMOS, or chronic dysmenorrhea, the immune system is actively contributing to the problem — driving inflammation in ovarian and uterine tissue, perpetuating pain, and making every other intervention harder. Until we address this, we're treating on top of a fire.

Stage 2: Digestive System The gut is the engine of hormonal health in ways that are now well-supported by research. Estrogen is metabolized and cleared through the gut. Gut bacteria directly influence androgen levels. The integrity of the gut lining determines how much inflammatory signaling reaches the rest of the body. In TCM, the Spleen and Stomach are foundational to the production of Qi and Blood — the raw materials of hormonal function. We don't skip this step.

Stage 3: Nervous System Chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation are among the most underestimated drivers of hormonal imbalance. Cortisol directly suppresses progesterone production. A nervous system in chronic sympathetic overdrive — which describes most women managing demanding lives alongside painful chronic conditions — cannot regulate the HPA axis well enough for hormonal therapies to stick. Acupuncture is uniquely suited to this stage: its action through the vagus nerve and autonomic nervous system is one of its most well-researched mechanisms.

Stage 4: Circulatory System Only once the other systems are more stable do we turn to the circulation — moving Blood, reducing stagnation, and directing therapeutic support where it's most needed. In TCM, Blood Stasis is a primary driver of painful periods, endometriosis, and fibroids. Moxibustion, specific acupuncture point combinations, and herbal formulas that move Blood are the tools of this stage. They are powerful — and they work best in a body that has been prepared by the three stages before.

By the time we reach direct hormonal support, your body is in a fundamentally different state than when we started. The inflammatory load is lower. The gut is more functional. The nervous system is calmer. Circulation is improved. Now the work holds.

What This Looks Like for You

This is not a program where you show up, get needles, take some herbs, and hope for the best. It's a coordinated course of care with a clinical logic behind every decision — one that takes seriously both the complexity of your condition and the intelligence of your body.

You will have a practitioner who knows your case in depth, tracks your cycle across four months, adjusts your herbal formula as your pattern shifts, and coordinates with whatever else you have going on medically.

For patients who have been bouncing between providers, following protocols that work briefly and then plateau, or simply running out of options within conventional care — this is what it looks like to actually go deep.

If you're ready for that conversation, I'd love to start with a consultation.

The Signature Program is $3,000 for four months of comprehensive gynecological care. Spaces are limited. [Book a consultation →]
